Sr. Damian (Marie) Conroy

Stella Maria, Taylors Hill, Galway, and formerly of Convent of Mercy, Tuam and Brierfield, Abbeyknockmoy.

Sr. Damian, Sisters of Mercy, Stella Maria, Galway and formerly of Convent of Mercy Tuam, and Brierfield, Abbeyknockmoy, died peacefully in Stella Maria, on January 15th, surrounded by her community and the Care Staff of Stella Maria.

Predeceased by her parents James (Jim) and Celia (Molloy), her brothers Padraic, Joseph, Aidan, her twin brother John Enda (who died as an infant), her nephew Séamus Óg and her niece Joanne. Deeply mourned and fondly remembered by her sisters Anne and Nuala and her brothers Seamus and Kevin, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch, in particular the community in Stella Maria.

Sr. Damian had made arrangements to donate her body to medical science, to aid in the silent teaching of others, but this wish could not be fulfilled, due to circumstances beyond her control.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Stella Maria (H91 XY93) from 3.30.pm to 5.00 pm on January 18th (Sunday). Arrival on January 19th (Monday) at Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam (H54 WP66) for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery, Tuam.
